Focus group discussion for Insurance Landscape Study in Nigeria

A leading composite insurance company in Nigeria that is driven by integrity, care, innovation, and professionalism. Sought to generate insight on Nigerians’ attitude towards Insurance as well as factors driving insurance usage in Nigeria.  Webhaptic Intelligence was commissioned to carry out this study.

Our Approach
Webhaptic Intelligence conducted Household Surveys with the residents in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Onitsha, and Port Harcourt. The study focuses on brand awareness, needs, and clients who use insurance services, reasons for not using insurance (non-insured), and the type of products and services available in the market, among other information. A total sample of 1,000 CAPI interviews were conducted across the study locations. The target respondents were both insured and non-insured. Insurance subscribers constitute the bulk with 70% of the sample while the remaining 30% were non-insured. Additionally, a total of 14 FGDs were conducted with both the insured and non-insured across the study locations.

Our Output
The client was able to gain a thorough understanding of Nigeria’s insurance landscape. The study revealed information about needs, gaps, reasons for using insurance, types of products and services available in the market, advertising reach of each brand, and clients who buy insurance more among other information.
