Brief
To better understand the pulse of the nation, a large-scale CATI survey project was launched to explore socioeconomic conditions, media consumption patterns, and public sentiment across Nigeria. The survey aimed to offer timely insights into how Nigerians perceive governance, access information, and navigate economic realities.
These insights were designed to support informed decisions for policymakers, private sector leaders, and development-focused organizations.
Approach
Webhaptic Intelligence conducted this study using Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI), reaching 7,500 Nigerian adults aged 18 and above over a three-month period.
The survey was administered nationwide, with 2,500 respondents interviewed each month, ensuring robust national representation. Stratified random sampling was used, factoring in:
- Gender
- Age
- State and Local Government Area (LGA)
- Economic status
Respondents were asked about their demographics, media consumption habits, household economic realities, and opinions on governance and national issues. All interviews were conducted using a secure, computer-assisted platform, with respondents randomly selected from Webhaptic’s verified phone database.
Impact
This study delivered rich, actionable data on the socioeconomic conditions and civic mindset of Nigerians across the country’s 36 states and the FCT. The results offer deep insights into how citizens consume media, experience economic pressures, and view national policies—empowering stakeholders to adapt messaging, programs, and strategies to meet the real needs of Nigerians.
